Eager students and parents poured into the International School of Brussels on Monday to attend the 32nd annual Brussels College Night. Bursting with questions, concerns, and overall excitement they hurried into the high school auditorium for the first event of the evening.
At “Applying to U.S. Universities 101: A Panel Discussion”, students had the opportunity to learn about the admissions process firsthand from select university representatives. The panelists offered tips on how to find the right fit when searching for universities, advice about the application process, and the realities of financial aid.
Panelists included representatives from Case Western Reserve University, Northeastern University, the University of Georgia, and Rhodes College.
During the subsequent college fair, attendees were able to speak to representatives from over 65 universities and institutions of higher learning from the United States and Europe. The fair, which is the largest U.S.-focused college fair in Belgium, provided students and parents with the opportunity to get specific information about individual universities with regards to campus size and culture, extracurricular activities, and degree offerings. The universities also provided interested students and parents with brochures packed with information and contact details for any follow up questions. Attendees maneuvered their way through the fair, visiting the booths of familiar universities but also discovering new and interesting institutions. Three short hours later, students left, their hands full of brochures and business cards and their minds full of dreams of pursuing undergraduate degrees in the United States!
We would like to thank all of our representatives, international school faculty, and volunteers for their help in making Brussels College Night 2016 a success.
